The EU institutions are unable to formulate a coherent position and commitments related to the case of the restitution process in Romania, meanwhile the budgetary committee of the US Congress is already making the preparations for a report in the matter, pointed out MEP Csaba Sógor in the European Parliament. The RMDSZ politician was talking about the topic of restitution in his one-minute speech at the mini-plenary meeting held on the 24th June in Brussels.
MEPs Csaba Sógor and Iuliu Winkler addressed a letter to the European Commission regarding the Romanian appellate court’s ruling in the Mikó case. In the letter addressed to First Vice President of the Commission, Frans Timmermans and Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Commissioner Vĕra Jourová the RMDSZ MEPs urge the European Commission to find a means to rectify the wrongful ruling.
The Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (RMDSZ) is baffled and outraged by the definitive decision of the Ploiești Court of Appeal, which sentenced Attila Markó, Member of the Romanian Parliament to three years of prison with probation.
